BEFORE YOUR APPOINTMENT
🌿 Recommendations before electrolysis
For the best possible treatment and skin recovery, we recommend:
- Complete the health information form before your first treatment.
- Tell the practitioner if your health has changed or if you have started any new medication.
- Eat a good meal before treatment.
- Drink plenty of water – about 1.5 litres per day for the two days before treatment.
- Avoid waxing, plucking and tweezing the area before treatment. The hairs need to be accessible for electrolysis.
- Keep the skin clean and well moisturised.
- Do not use retinol or products containing retinol on the treatment area before treatment.
- Avoid acids and other strong active skincare products on the treatment area immediately before electrolysis.
- Avoid strong sun and tanning beds immediately before treatment.
24 HOURS BEFORE
🍷 Alcohol
Avoid alcohol for 24 hours before treatment, as it can make the skin more sensitive and increase redness and irritation.
AFTER YOUR APPOINTMENT
🌸 The first 24 hours
- Avoid touching the treated area unnecessarily.
- Avoid makeup, perfume and products containing alcohol on the area.
- Avoid exercise, sauna, swimming pools, tanning beds and strong heat.
- Avoid direct sun on the treated area.
- Do not use scrubs, peels, acids or retinol.
SKINCARE
Take care of your skin
- Keep the area clean and avoid unnecessary irritation.
- Do not pick or remove small scabs – allow the skin to heal naturally.
- Once the skin has settled, keep it well moisturised.
SUN PROTECTION
☀️ Protect your skin from the sun
Once the skin has healed, SPF 30–50 is recommended on exposed areas. Avoid strong sun to reduce the risk of pigmentation.
NORMAL REACTION
❤️ Important to know
Mild redness, tenderness, swelling or small scabs can be a normal reaction after electrolysis.
If you experience severe pain, increasing swelling, pus or an unusual reaction, contact your practitioner or a doctor.
TREATMENT COURSE
Regularity is very important
Electrolysis is a gradual process, and good results are built over time through regular treatments.
